Mr. Christopher is an avid advocate of the Cyprus Issue. Cyprus was illegally and brutally invaded by Turkish troops in 1974. To this day, Cyprus remains illegally occupied by Turkish forces. “The Republic of Cyprus, a member of the European Union and a staunch ally of the United States, has been illegally occupied since 1974. Turkish troops with American-made arms paid with our taxes, keep 200,000 Greek-Cypriots away from their ancestral homes. Turkey should follow the Rule of Law, abide by the countess United Nations resolutions and remove its troops and illegal settlers from the island,” Mr. Christopher remarked.
Mr. Christopher was born in Kyrenia, Cyprus, but his family had to flee during the invasion.
